About me

I am interested in various aspects of animal coloration, including mechanisms of color expression, environmental factors affecting color characteristics, as well as costs and evolutionary benefits of integumentary color production. My primary model species are birds, although I occasionally expand my studies to other taxa (e.g., snails). Beside coloration, I explore various aspects of biology and ecology of birds and other animals, focusing mainly on their reproductive strategies. Together with my students, I combine field and laboratory work.
